Tyler Christopher is best known for his role as Nikolas Cassadine on the ABC daytime drama General Hospital. Tyler immediately captured the hearts of fans and the notice of television critics. He won the Soap Opera Digest Award as “Best Newcomer” in 1997 and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 1998, 2005, and 2006. He won an Emmy for leading actor in 2016.
Although Tyler was beginning a successful acting career in film and television, his passion remained for the theater. In 1999 he co-founded Theatre 68 with his best friend Ronnie Marmo. Tyler has starred in several productions including the critically acclaimed Bent and The Boys Next Door.
During his hiatus from General Hospital (1999-2003), Christopher joined the cast of The Pretender and the two subsequent Pretender TV Movies. He landed the lead role in the CBS Pilot Sam’s Circus and also the UPN Pilot One for the Money as well as a supporting role in The Secrets of a Small Town. He also portrayed Dan Whitehouse in The Lying Game on ABC Family.
Tyler’s last air date on General Hospital was July 19, 2016.
He has also made numerous guest appearances on Charmed, Angel, CSI: Las Vegas, Boomtown, JAG, and many more. He 2005 he portrayed Jacob Wheeler Jr. in Steven Spielberg’s television mini-series Into the West.
Christopher starred in several independent features: Out of the Black, Catfish in Black Bean Sauce, and Face The Music. Other films include Shouting Secrets and Beyond the Lights. Upcoming films include Unhallowed, The New Wife and Pretty Broken.
Christopher is beyond happy that the 68 Cent Crew celebrated its 10th anniversary as a theatre company on February 14th 2011 and is proud to call himself a member.
